Leo smirked giddily as Anjok shuffled back to the rest of the crowd. All the time that Anjok had been carrying the body - god d@mn it, why was he so d@mned strong? Leo would have liked to be able to do that - Leo had the sense that they were being watched, a hypertense sense of it, adding to this excitement.
Leo walked into the stuffy closet, letting a sliver of light in. Once this was done, he would become this guard (a glance at the guard's bizarrely smiling face made him wish they'd had someone else for him to become) and he would be on his way, with Leslie, to the hospital. Now all he had to do was pull it off...
Leo slipped out of his own pathetic outfit - not pretty and colorful like the others - and touched the guard's wrist, and felt his body changing shape. He took off the guard's clothes, leaving him in his underwear in the closet, and changed into them, then casually walked out of the closet.
It felt bizarre to be a guard. He looked around and automatically wanted to go mingle with his friends and family, but knew that he couldn't do that.
Even so, he gave Raychel a little bit of a smile, and walked among the other guards, who were taking Leslie to the truck.
He was trying to formulate a way to do this, finding that he was having troubles with this, and just decided that at the last minute to tell them that Chuck had told him that they were going to the hospital instead of the lab. He'd figure out the rest later.

The guard who had asked about her blood type simply nodded, yelling, "She's AB positive guys, we need a transplant!" over the commotion, the other of the guards half glaring at him for speaking to a carnie, but also understanding that it had to be done. The guards swung the stretcher onto their shouldes and started toward the nearest exit, the extra guards running behind them, creating a comotion with "what the f*cks" and "holy craps" and just pure awe surrounding them as they walked away.
"Bruno..." Chunk held his head in his hand, overwelmed by Bruno's stupidity, staying with the carnies more because he didn't want to go with the guards than anything else. He took back what he said. Bruno was an idiot. But He loved him anyway, "SARCASM Bruno...sarcasm..." He ignored his other question. Yes, it could get to the Head, but he neglected to remember that the lab was full of doctors and scientists. They could never explain this injury to a hospital, like he said. Not to mention they could escape from the hospital. They could tattle. And hospitals were places of humanity.
The word tasted like sour milk in his mouth. --
Rebekah didn't know what else do bo but stare at all that was happening. She probably looked stupid. She felt stupid. Everything was happening so fast. Something about blood types. Something else about guards and Leo. She didn't know.
So she just sat there.

Ray watched as Anjok walked back into the main tent out of the corner of her eye, if she turned to him, it'd draw too much attention. After about another minute, the guard who was previously out cold and being dragginded into the closet, walked out and hurried over to the guards carrying Leslie away. He flashed her a quick smile, though it was more of a smirk compared to the usuall grin on that guard's face. Good luck, Leo, Leslie, good luck... she thought a bit sadly, seeing two of her adoptive 'children' leaving. It'd be a while before she saw them again, if ever. Tears sprang into her eyes, but were quickly wiped away. Stick together, protect one another, and most importantly, stay safe. She told them silently, even though she knew they couldn't hear it, and never would, it still made her feel a bit better to pretend they did, pretend that they could still feel her need for them to be safe. It was something she could never explain, but ever since she had met everyone here, they had become her family. She was the mom and was Anjok the dad, and, alteast to her, the others were all her children, and they always would be, no matter how far apart they may be. Once again the tears threatened to spill over, this time though, she let them, unable to fight them any longer. -- Dominique watched as they loaded his big sister into the truck, he wanted to go with her, he had to go with her. Taking a step forward, his legs felt like they were tied down with weights, making them harder to move. Common sense decided to rear its ugly head while he struggled to move, and reminded him that if the guards or that d@mned chip in his spine killed him for trying to leave (which ever came first) then he would be no use to her. If he died, and she lived, where would that leave her?
Alone in the outside world.
He doupted she'd be able to find their parents, not remembering their last name, or their old town, or even their old state, he knew he couldn't. And god forbid she ever got dragged back here, if she didn't manage to escape, and he was dead, she'd be dead too, he was the only reason she hadn't tried to escape.
She'd never survive.
"Sissy...." he muttered as he watched her dissapear into the truck, fresh tears falling down her face.

The tears spilled again, and that fluttery sense of lost broke inside of Belle's chest again.
She rested a hand on Dom's shoulder, rubbing it lightly and gently. "I'm...sure she'll be okay..." Belle murmured, lying through her stuttering teeth. As she watched Leslie loaded up into the truck, she knew she wouldn't be okay. Back to the lab? None of them ever wanted to go back there - even seeing that boy she barely knew, that Zero kid, go back made her pity him terribly. And Leslie going back? The circus was horrid, but it was a Taj Mahal coming from that place.
They loaded Leslie into the truck and slammed the rusty, greenish doors on her; as they did, her breath caught in her throat.
She closed her eyes, but could not get the image of the rusty, swinging doors out of her mind - that, she knew regretfully, was the way she would forever remember Leslie.
He could hear his heart going a little faster and harder than it should be - it was excited by this idea, this so very James Bond kind of thing. He followed the crew of guards to the truck, realizing that only a handful would even be taking her. Two were piling into the front now, two he thought he might have recognized but heck, he wasn't sure. Another four were loading her into the back of the truck (DON'T TOUCH HER WITH YOUR GRIMY HANDS YOU BASTARDS!) and two were already in the truck.
d@mn, there were so many, he was positive he could just slide in with the rest.
Leo walked around the front, glancing into the truck and saw that it could hold up to about four people in the front as opposed to the two that were there. The back doors slammed shut - he cringed at the sound of the doors shutting, marking the next chapter of their lives, or at least his and Leslie's - but sucked it up and opened up the pa$$enger door on the truck.
"Hey," he said, attempting a typical, nonchalant attitude. "We ready to go?"
The other two stared at him.
"What the f*ck are you doing?" the driver snapped. "He sent us to drive this thing."
"Well he sent me," Leo countered, jabbing a thumb to his chest, "to come with you. Deal with it."
He had no idea if this was the guard's personality. They'd deal with it.
The others looked unhappy about that idea, but looked like they'd deal with it.
The driver turned the key in the ignition.
"Oh, uh...and, uh," (too many "uh"s) "he said that we need to go to the hospital instead of the lab. Change of plans."
The look the other two gave him was both terrifying and priceless.

Rebekah suddenly had flashbacks of the lab: cruel flashbacks of cruel tests and cruel pokes and prods that didn't seem to make any sense at all; she came to the conclusion that they just wanted to torture her. But now...now they needed to save a life. Did they even know how? Could they? Were they even doctors?
"I don't know about this guys." She didn't know what was going to happen; this much was true. She was scared. She was even more scared for Dom. To lose someone like that...she thanked God it wasn't Zero.
A bad creep began up her spine, atarting as the base and ending at the nape of her neck, tricking into her head. She didn't like this. She didn't like this at all. It was too risky...
Too undependable.
--
"What?" One of the guards said disbelievingly, " You? The bozo?!?"
He and the other guards started cracking up. They all knew Mitch. He was the like the town idiot. He couldn't even clean out the bathrooms without falling into the toilet. No. No way."
"AHAHAHAHAHAAANOOOOHAHA.nnonoHAAno" One of them wiped a tear from his eye, "Noooooo way, man. Nice try. I value your effort, little man." The guard patted Leo's head, "I know you wanna drive the big bad truck but I'm driving."
"Yeah dude" The other guard spalled his thigh, laughing as the other one spoke, almost falling out of his chair "HAHAHA. NOOOOO WAY hahahahahaha."

Leo felt himself growing red, both from embara$$ment and from anger. "Shove it up your a$$," he snapped, a hint of animalistic growling sliding into his voice. "Just get her the f*ck to the hospital, you stupid bastard, or I'll rip your head from your shoulders."
It occurred to him a second later that it probably wouldn't make a lot of sense for the "bozo" to threaten them like that, but he really didn't care - they had to get the truck moving soon or else that head guard guy wasn't exactly going to be happy.
A guard starting laughing insanely. "Oooohhh," he managed to get out through hysterical fits. "The big bad b!tch is going to rip our heads off."
Leo felt himself grow even hotter, and his hands started shaking. He was very on the brink of ripping their heads off. Don't change, don't change, don't change, don't change, for Leslie, don't change, if I change, this will all blow up in my f*cking face, don't change, just let them bash you, don't change...
It was hard, but with more restraint than he'd probably used in his life, Leo managed to hold back.

"Hahahaha, you know what?" One guard punched the other on the shoulder, "Maybe he did tell the bozo. Chuck isnt so bright himself, right dude?" He began to slow his laughing down after he was through speaking, which was more squeezed in between each laugh than anything as he wiped a tear from his eye.
The other guard was still going on like it was f*cking hysterical.
She was going to be fine...a cigarette earlier had completely calmed his fears. She was fine. She'd go the hospital and come back and everything would be fine. It didn't really matter anyway. He didn't particularly care about this chick anyway...not that he cared really about anything. Not even himself. He did smoke two packs a day, after all. It was all very simple.Very simple indeed. She'd be fine.
He cleared his throat and wipe his running nose with a snort as he turned the key in the ignition, the dangling skull keychain swingin freely underneath, "Kay, so the hospital, right?"

"Yeah," Leo gritted out between his teeth. The guards were still chuckling madly under their breath, and Leo glanced out the window of the cab as the truck rumbled and began to bump its way down the path to the exit. The exit of hell.
Hey, Leo, his mind was saying snidely to him, guess what? You're leaving. You're leaving this place. Look behind you - all your friends and family, except Leslie, are there - and you're leaving. You're leaving. Isn't that cool? When was the last time you were in a car and not in the back of a truck? It was a long time ago, wasn't it? This is pretty d@mned cool...
Belle shuddered as she saw the truck drive down the path, rumbling loudly and blowing dark gray smoke into the air before dissipating. It drove along, until it made its way to the gate, and pa$$ed through.
"Leslie," she murmured painfully, feeling only the echoes of the uncontainable amounts of agony going on inside Dom.
The truck turned and disappeared, the gate itself a mimicry of the figurative wall that now separated Leslie and everyone else...Leslie was, for at least the short while it took to make it to the lab, free. Unconscious, and caged in the back of a grimy truck, but in some small way, free.
Belle turned her gaze on Dom and cringed at the sight of him.

SLAM. The doors to the back of the truck shut with a bang that rippled through him, shaking him to his very core. Dominique barely registered that fact the Belle was talking to him, that her hand rested on his shoulder again. The only thing that mattered right now was that his twin, his sister, was leaving. She was leaving him. They had never been apart, ever. And now, now they were being yanked apart at the seams.
Leslie and Dom had always been one, yet two. They were the same, but oh so different. Kind of like two pieces of fabric, sown together in the most intricate of ways. Each piece has the same pattern, the same colors, the same size, the same shape. But one part of the patterns were different, one little part that was barely noticeable without close observation.
So now, it seemed that the very threads that held them together were being cut apart, ten, twenty at a time, and the more that was cut, the emptier Dom felt.
As the truck pulled away, the threads continued to be severed, until the vehicle rounded a corner, and she was gone. That's when the last of their bonds seemed to be cut away. He could still feel his sister's presence, he could tell she was alive but even that was vague, even that was fading away.
Dom had never felt so alone in his life, never had so little hope, never been this empty. Tears rolled down his cheeks and he let loose a sob, falling to his knees heavily. "...No! Les...! P-pl-please! C-come back safe! P-pl-please!" He said, sobs racked his body, unable to keep them under control any longer. --- Raychel watched the truck leave. With Leslie and Leo inside. As it rumbled away, fresh tears made their way down her cheeks.
The truck turned, leaving Raychel and the other carnies view.
Ray felt bad that she was the only one that knew that Leslie was going to be safe, and that she had a friend with her. But, she had to keep it quiet, the others couldn't know. That way, when the guards noticed the change, and the missing Leo, the others couldn't be blamed. It was her plan, and she was the only one who knew. She would take the fall, because its something she had to do, it was her responsibility, as the mom. But just because she had to do it, and she knew she had to, that didn't make doing it any easier. She wished the guards would just leave already, she needed to talk to Anjok, needed to fell his arms around her, telling her that it was all going to work out. Even if it was a lie, she needed to hear it.
That's when she remembered. She and Anjok still had their punishment for being together. They were still in for the beating of their lives. That's going to be fun. Ray thought sarcastically.
Then she heard him, Dom. He was breaking down, quite literally. Ray wanted so badly to comfort him, tell him that his sister wasn't going back to the lab, she was going to the hospital, she was going to get proper medical treatment, she was going to get help. But she couldn't. And she knew it. She couldn't even comfort him, knowing that it'd slip out.
That tore her up inside.
So she looked to Anjok, silently begging him to do what she couldn't, praying he understood her.

Bernard tipped his head up and watched the truck pull out of the rusted gates of the circus. Leslie, he was sure, was heading out of one hell and straight into another. His thoughts swirled and buzzed around his head like a swarm of starving locusts. He tipped his head back down, hiding his eyes behind his crossed arms, and told himself that Leslie would be alright. He'd go to sleep that night and wake up in the morning, and Leslie would be there as always, absolutely healthy. He repeated it several times in his head, trying to drill the idea into his own mind.
After several failed attempts, he pulled his hands together loosely in front of his knees and spoke in nearly-silent rasps, "Dear God...."
--
Anjok watched the point where the tires of the old truck met the road and traced the tire tracks in his mind. They were wide and deep, several deep lines extending the length of them, much like the gouges on Leslie's chest. He shuddered and wrenched his mind away from the thought as if it had caused him physical harm.
Almost suddenly, he was aware of a choked wailing. Turning towards the source of the sound, he found Dom - a sobbing wreck. He glanced nervously at Raychel before heading carefully to Dom's side. He crouched on his toes and rested one large hand on Dom's shoulder. Bending down and to the side slightly, he spoke quietly in what he hoped was a composed, supportive voice, "Dom, I'm so sorry. The circus needs her here though and they know that, so they're gonna do everything they can to help her. In the mean time, you have to try to be strong, and I know it's hard, but we're all here for you and we always will be." He silenced himself and watched Dom, hoping that some of what he said had gotten through to him.

Rebekah felt like an outcast. Honestly, she barely even knew these people. Her home was still back at the lab (As much as she hated to admit it, the lab really was the only place she could call her home). This place was foreign. As were the people. Some huge tragedy had jsut occured, and she barely even understood what it was; what they were feeling: she had no idea. It was like watching a TV drama. She had done her part. Now she was just a bystander
So here was the scene: Leslie had just been taken away to the lab, her brother was horribly worried about her, and everyone was here being the semi-family unit that they were, trying to both keep their wits about them and keep Dom from kiling hmself. One of them had just tried to calm him down; she didn't know his name; she only knew three names, after all. It was her secondish hour here, and she would have killed for the blinding lights of the lab rather than sitting in the middle of a teary withdrawl. She wished the guards would shoo them all already; the mess was over. Really, it was all over. This was just the aftermath. An aftermath that didn't involve her.
The whole place smelled like some sort of rust, and her hands felt like they were encased in some sort of plaster, the blood drying on her fingers. She needed a shower, but had no idea when she would get one. Dammit, I shouldnt be thinking about taking a shower! Look whats happening!
But she couldnt help it. This wasnt her place. She sat and started drawing a smiley face in the clean sand, changing it to a frowny face after she realized the circumstances.
--
Chuck watched the grouping of carnies with disgust UGH! EMOTIONS! If carnies didn't have emotions, my job would be ten times easier. Emotions were a bother; he was happy he never really had them (except for love...but that was another story). He walked over swiftly, fumbling with his taser, pressing the button that would shock them all at once when he arrived, towering over the carnies since all of them were sitting. (he felt extremely powerful like this). "Okay; she's gone. Sob story's over. Get to your cages." He bitterly stated.
--
The guard driving the trick hit the steering wheel in rythum with a song by Three Day's Grace as he waited for the red light to pa$$. He didn't really care about the chick in the back. He really didn't. He was just going what he was told. Go to the hospital. Whatever. He'd just say she fell on a rake or something. Maybe smething more epic than that. She fell from a building and onto a rake. Yeah. He took a cigarette out of his pocket, lit it, took a puff, and offered it to "Mitch," "You want one?"

Belle gasped when Dom started sobbing hysterically. She didn't know what to say - all she could do was begin to cry slightly herself, just a few tears breaking past the barrier. She was almost beginning to sob - Anjok came over and he started talking to Dom, and Belle couldn't help herself. It was silent, and she tried to stop it. She turned her face from the two. She was trying so hard to be strong for Dom, and yet she was finally breaking down. Just seeing him explode...
"Okay; she's gone," the head guard yelled. "Sob story's over. Get to your cages."
No! It wasn't over. Not until Leslie was safe again would it be over. Belle looked up, red-eyed and trying hard not to be, and saw the taser, pointing lazily among them all, moving back and forth to threaten each carnie individually.
Belle looked back to Dom. He still looked distraught and scarred for life. She wanted to touch him - she even lifted her hand up - but she let it fall when she remembered who was watching.
Belle began to shuffle toward the cages.
Leo was a little startled by the question. He looked at the cigarette and saw the word "bada$$" written all over it.
"Yeah, sure, thanks," Leo said. He took the cigarette from the guard's hand and just sort of looked at it for a second. He knew that they went in people's mouths, but looking at it he really wasn't sure which end went where or what he was even supposed to do with it. He shrugged and put it in his mouth.
Well it doesn't seem like much...
He glanced over at the guy with the smoke streaming away from his mouth when he exhaled.
Oh, right, I need a light.
He took the lighter, too, and lit it, then took in a breath and coughed.
Yughh...
The car took a turn onto a slightly busier road. Things were way different than they were at the circus. Way different. The cars were all the same - but the road was paved. And there were signs. And people just, like, walking their dogs and stuff, or jogging, or things like that. And there were stores. And bright colored signs (comparatively dull-colored to what he was used to, though). And a big flyer that said "THE CIRCUS IS IN TOWN - COME SEE THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH!"
Leo snarled at the sign.
