Ok, this is kind of old news but it makes me really happy none the less. Gay marriage is now legal in California. I think it's great, hopefully it'll be legal in every state soon. ;D So, what do you guys think about it?

I like that comic very much.
I thought I might as well post in this section, this topic does come up a lot...
I am very much for gays and their happiness and I am happy that it is becoming more accepted. I understand, however, both sides of the arguement.
For those against it, they see marriage as the binding of a man and a woman (not man/man or woman/woman) as it is stated in the bible and to have two people of the same sex does ruin the significance of marriage. I understand that marriage is derived from the bible as a christian binding, and so...I do understand why people are against gay marriage.
In my opinion, marriage is useless anyway because you don't need a certificate to prove that you love the person you're with.
Nonetheless, maybe there should be a binding of people such as marriage for other religious beliefs -including one for gay couples.

People should, as they are permitted in I think the country is Canada, to marry who (or what) they want to.
Isn't it the Mormons who have more than one wife?
Well, we are built and described as a non-religiously influenced society. However, gay marriage is against the bible, and therefore - as nobody else appears to have a problem with it - has a Christian influence in this society. See, maybe our country is said to be non-religiously influenced, but we don't say anything for the people running the place.
Now, if we were really religiously tolerant, we would allow the binding between more than one person (I see no problem with it as long as everyone involved is okay with it). After, there is in fact a religion that holds true to this concept of more than one spouse, and therefore needs the religious backing of this "non-religiously influenced country" to support them.
Perhaps there could, just as easily, be a religion in which gay marriage is even more common that heterosexual marriage, somewhere out there. (This is hypothetical). Should we not afford the same opportunities?
And if someone should fall desperately in love with, for whatever out-there reason, a...painting. They fall madly in love with a painting, let's say. They should be able to marry it. Okay, there's something wrong with that, but that's a personal opinion. Heck, maybe there'd be a whole community of people marrying paintings and photographs and table lamps. Okay, definitely veering off topic.
Anyway, on a lighter note, gay people ought to be able to marry. I see no problem with this concept. Why would there be? If the ancient Greeks could do it, why not us? (Yes, the ancient Greeks were just as gay as we are now).
One word: Christianity.
Boy, we're not religiously influenced at all. Not a bit.
Although, in the end, I agree with Chris. (Your name is Chris, right?). This whole marriage business is just too messy. Sooo much easier not to have to go through the ordeal.
