No, I've still gotta read Eclipse. I'm only on the third chapter XD But I know a lot of what's going on because I've read spoilers and my friend has told me what's going on as she's reading the book. It sounds REALLY good. Though on Amazon.com they are totally flaming it like no other. There's even a MySpace page called 'Burning Dawn.'
Point is, don't listen to those people. They're only like that because they're hard-core vampire fans, and are mad that Stephanie Meyer bent the rules a little bit.

The movie doesn't look good. In addition, there's no way to know if that's the reason they're getting mad, because I'll firmly stand by the fact that that's not it.
I'm getting the book in a few days (meaning Breaking Dawn), so I'll be able to form my own opinions about it then. But until then, one girl said that she brought Breaking Dawn back to the store (I didn't see a lot of the conversation - it was an online chat that I was only half paying attention to), and when she went to return it, the guy at the counter said that she was the fourth one that day to bring it back.
These are hardcore fans bringing it back. At least the girl I saw talking about it is (or maybe was). Another girl (who, I swear to god if she says one more thing about how absolutely amazing Edward is, I will kill her) also said that Breaking Dawn was "...meh".
Either way, I highly, highly doubt that the rule-bending is the reason they're not thrilled with Stephenie Meyer's book. Um, unless you're saying that because you know it for a fact, in which case I'm going to look pretty stupid...lol

That's not the only reason why they don't like it, but on the forums on Amazon.com they said that that's part of the reason why they don't like it. Wow, fourth one?!...I feel bad for Stephanie Meyer.

That's a retarded reason not to like a book. I've never even heard that excuse before, actually.
It's "Stephenie Meyer". Sorry, that's really been bugging me.
I don't feel bad for her. Random housewife writes New York Times number one novel in the course of a month (without even intending to publish the book) and, out of the blue, becomes a celebrity without ever having the intention of doing so.
Her first book, too.
Hell, I wish I was her.

It only took her a month to write Twilight? I didn't know that. That surprises me. There's so much going on in Twilight. And I've been working on my novel for about a year now XD Though with many months of idleness on it. I really should start working on it if I want it done by the end of the year.
Anyways...Yeah, people are giving all these excuses about how much they hate the book. I'd tell you more, but most of them are spoilers and I don't want to ruin the book for you.

That movie comes out in December. The twelfth, I believe.
My best friend is dragging me to that movie since I made a speech during cla$$ about how it's complete bull that so many girls are fawning over this...thing like it were real life.
To be honest, I stole the book from girls in my cla$$es on numerous occasions and read random parts. I do not understand what is so important about it other than it gives some girls unrealistic fantasies of love that comforts them. I find pleasure in knowing they'll be let down soon enough.
I don't think it's even worth a movie title, but it'll probably be a sellout in the box office for all it's girl fanatics and gay fan base yet I bet it'll be tasteless and not fully follow the book. After all, there is not much action in the first book so I've heard.
I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Thanks, word ^.^ I hate spoilers, so I appreciate that. But yeah, it only took her a month. She said that she did basically nothing for that month but write it, and she wrote every chance she got. She was obsessed XD. And yeah, I get what you mean - I've been working on mine for about nine or ten months now.
Yeah, Chris, we all know. But you're not the first person I've met to diss the book before they've read it. I never understood that. Why are you dissing a book you haven't read?
And yes, it is December twelfth, and it entertains me that you even know that after those comments about your thoughts regarding Twilight.
Okay, here's my thoughts regarding why Twilight is so insanely popular and addictive:
It's a dream. Despite what anyone else will say about it and any depth they claim it to have, it's a dream. It was borne from a dream, and it is still just that. Edward Cullen is perfect, which nobody can be - which people can only be in our dreams. Everything that happens to Bella Swan is just very...dreamy. It obviously can't happen in real life, but we'd all love it to, wouldn't we? Especially those tweens who want love but don't know how to get it. It's something people can relate to and get totally lost in. Everyone's a little bit of a hopeless romantic, and this is the ultimate hopeless romantic book. Y'know, the heart's secret desire kind of thing.
Now, there are, of course, people who don't like it. I realized I loved it for the writing style - I figure that if you don't go for that kind of style, you won't get why all that mush is so wonderful, and will hate it. However, if you are affected by the writing style, you'll understand it, and won't hate it.
That's my theory. Theories can be proven wrong. But that's what I think.
The movie?
I already said that the reason I love the book is for the writing style and, naturally, that's not going to show up in the movie, totally defeating the purpose of me even wanting to see it. I love it for the writing - there's no writing in the movie, so it's pointless.
Also, Chris, I would like to add that the fanbase isn't all fangirls and gays. There are adults who like it, and I can name more than one [straight] boy who likes Twilight. (XD The one I'm thinking of even said he was gay for Edward. Lol).
Ooh, one of the weird things about Twilight is that it actually gets people to hate absolutely obsessed in it. It's really weird o.O.
And one last thing, Chris.
Twilight, as bad as it is going to be, is by no means the most worthless movie out there.
I mean, come on.
High School Musical 3 is going to be in theaters?
Madagascar 2?
I'm not defending the movie. You'd have to duct tape me to the movie seats and peel my eyes open to make me see it.
I'll just reiterate one last point - why are you dissing a book you haven't read?

I agree with Rose on how it's a dream. That makes so much sense. I have the worst luck with guys (all I can attract are losers >_> getting screwed over is getting really old) but when I read Twilight it's like, all of that fades away, and I just become one with the story. It's weird.

Rose, I did read some of the book. Not the whole thing, but I did read a lot. Enough to get the plot, characters, scenes, etc. So, my opinion is justified.
As for knowing the date, I already mentioned previously that I am aware of the date due to promising my friend (who is obsessed with it) that I would go with her. Don't be amused.
I also never recalled saying anything like it being "the most worthless movie", I'd apreciate it if you actually read my posts instead of placing words into my mouth.
As for her writing style, I found it poor if even average and the plot line overused and just don't understand why it's so popular. To quote a person I know, "I have read all four of the series. I love the series even though it's ridiculous and kind of badly written. "
That is my opinion and I was simply stating that I would not get my hopes up for this movie.
The fanbase, however, I admit I was wrong to say that only girls and gays read it. I forgot that I do infact know a few straight guys who actually have read the book. Most of the people I know who are obsessed happened to be girls and gays, though, which is where I had come up with that statement.

Okay, how much is "a lot". "A lot" is a hard number to judge. Is a lot forty pages? A hundred pages? Two hundred pages? A couple pages every chapter? I can tell you from experience, you won't totally get the book unless you read it as it was intended to be read.
I also already said that, even though I now honestly do believe that you have a feel for her style, if you don't like the style, you most likely will not like the book. I'd appreciate it if you actually read my posts instead of placing words into my mouth.
"I don't think it's even worth a movie title, but it'll probably be a sellout in the box office for all it's girl fanatics and gay fan base yet I bet it'll be tasteless and not fully follow the book."
Not worth a title? Sounds like you think it's pretty worthless to me.
Mmhmm. Most cliched plot in the entire world. Came to terms with that long ago.
See, and here's where I agree with you - after reading Twilight that first time almost two years ago, I always thought even then that it would make a terrible movie.
"...and just don't understand why it's so popular."
I already told you. I'd appreciate it if you actually read my posts, Chris. Any consideration at all for that nice, big paragraph I wrote? Any at all?
